A national strategic project for a smart city data hub that opens and uses urban data

The development of the smart city open data hub architecture and core technologies was a national strategic project led by the Korea Electronics Technology Institute in 2020. Its goal was to combine big data, cloud, IoT and artificial intelligence to open urban infrastructure information and create an urban data ecosystem in which citizens and service providers can use the data.

Challenge

We had to verify that the data core complies with technical specifications and interworks reliably with different systems

The smart city data hub tester was needed to confirm that the system under test correctly implements the functions defined in the technical specifications and to verify interoperability and stable operation between homogeneous and heterogeneous systems. A dedicated test environment was required, covering product registration, test planning, execution, log and message flow analysis and result reporting.

Solution

CertMate was applied as the core engine of the data core tester

The tester lets users enter detailed information on the product under test, set a test profile matching its type, select test cases to create a plan and then run tests in batch or individually. For completed tests, behavior is analyzed with message sequence charts and logs, and users can review the final verdicts and details and download reports.

    Manages unique information and security credentials for the test target and test profiles for each server or device type.

    Runs selected test cases in batch or individually and shows message flows and detailed logs.

  3. 03Verdicts and reports

    Shows test results by item and generates result files such as PDF and JSON for further review.

Outcome

Registration, planning, execution, analysis and reporting were integrated into a single test flow

Repeated testing and result comparison became easier, and an environment was established to systematically verify that the data core complies with technical specifications. It can serve as a testing foundation for confirming interoperability and stable operation between homogeneous and heterogeneous systems.
